Greetings

I hope you’ve been checking in on Rhythm Wednesday
Sunday was the first day of Eastern Daylight Time.  However, it was accompanied by  torrential rainfall, strong winds and cloudy overcast weather instead of bright daylight.  It’s reasonable to assume it didn’t help many individuals circadian rhythm. Rest assured, warm days with increasing daylight and Spring are ahead.
In keeping with National Nutrition Month, it’s good to remember that weight gain and weight loss are more about where, who you eat with, when, and how you eat, rather than what you eat. Mindful eating is just as important as eating a nutritious meal. As spring approaches, your thoughts may turn to preparing the body for lighter, spring and summer foods. Here is a great article to read on Detoxification Of The Body.

5 Steps For A New Body

As we move into a new season, we carry some of the habits and thoughts of the fading season, and probably the prior year. It’s not always easy for us to let go. It is not easy for us humans to let go of ingrained habits. It certainly is not one of my strong points. They’ve been with me for a long time….feels comfortable….know what to do when the going gets rough and eases the pain that may be present. It doesn’t matter how we slice the cake or cut the pie, eating is a habit.
To be successful in creating a wellness lifestyle for our businesses, our lives and our families, when willpower is not enough, we need to admit to ourselves that we lost control of our eating habits or our business has no systems in place.

1. Admission

2. Acceptance on a deep emotional level, a gut level, that you are relatively powerless. Admit we are bankrupt.

3. Act-begin to take action to change internally versus externally. We may change jobs or buy more clothes and shoes and then notice we are still overeating. Our action can begin with our thoughts. The same holds true for the business.

4. Associate-you are not alone. You can believe in a High Power and/or the power of a group. Surround yourself with an authentic support group, successful business people

5. Take one step at time and verbally say to yourself for each step taken, “Thanks, I’ve taken a successful step on the road to optimal wellness!

News Tidbits

Vitamin D - Danish researchers reported Vitamin D activates T-cells (immune systems killer cells) when an adequate amount of D is available. Otherwise, the T-cells remain dormant and unaware of a threat from infections and pathogens when there is not enough Vitamin D in the blood.
Urinary- Age is not a deciding factor in determining who will have leakage of urine. I saw young women in my practice who would leak urine while I was performing their vaginal exams. Urinary leakage can occur after vaginal trauma, childbirth, surgical procedures, weak pelvic floor muscles and certain medical conditions. In many instances the condition goes untreated because women don’t mention the proble to their primary care provider. Treatment can be non-invasive and localized.
